About
Bryant Sharing Outreach Services Ministries, Inc. (Bryant SOS), is a non-profit faith-based community outreach corporation organized and located in Montgomery, Alabama and operated exclusively for charitable, religious, and educational, purposes as referred to in Sections 501(c)(3) and 170(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Our organization was created in 2016 by a group of concerned church members and friends who had a desire to address our community's challenges verses its opportunities. Our concerns included a need for creating a good quality of life, as well as becoming more active as a church or organization to try to address some of the critical social issues consuming our neighborhoods. Being faced with so many critical issues, we felt a need to act and react aggressively by moving from within our walls and going out into the trenches to reach the people in hopes of bringing about change. After months of planning and wading through changes in the leadership of Bryant Missionary Baptist Church, serious volunteers began to step up and work with the development of ministries that would address the most critical needs that would help put hope the our neighbors' hearts and make a positive impact in the community. We believe that our volunteers' dedication to helping those in need is as strong as when they accepted Jesus Christ in their hearts. We are caring people joined together to make OUR community better. However, our overall purpose is to glorify God and to be His Servants in our Church, community, and beyond. We want to create and develop relationships that gives our neighbors hope and demonstrates our love of God.
At the heart of our mission is the service given of the many volunteers that donate their time. We are all committed to developing and maintaining a haven of services and resources by ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of disadvantaged people of the community, including planning and engaging in charitable, human service, educational, religious, and support programs and services. In the fall of 2019, we were designated as a charitable nonprofit organizations as described in section 501(c)(3) and became eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with Code section 170.
Every day, we are met by individuals and families in our community who are experiencing crises after crises. Daily, we see the damage, despair, and distress of crime, death, poverty, hunger, homelessness, and hopelessness. We want to also share the hope of the Gospel and give help to people impacted by need and despair through the outreach services of Bryant Missionary Baptist Church Ministries.
Thus, our program and services include a series of "helping hands" ministries, including a food pantry, clothes closet, biblical education program, and allows us to coordinate other events and activities for our neighbors and surrounding communities that are planned each year. It is now our vision to add a “Workspace for Youth” program that will help students have access to the Internet and online learning for those families with students in need. As well, we hope to build school connections that leave no student behind. All of our services are intended to help provide a caring environment in which families can come to a one-stop haven of services. We will strive to use all of our resources in a responsible effective manner and we are totally committed to doing our work for the Lord with integrity, accountability and excellence.
We believe that every individual should have the opportunity to prosper in our community and we are here to help bring about “HOPE” and soften the pain that suffering has caused. We are deeply committed to our continued work to support our community, to seek to build partnerships and viable relationships, and to make hopelessness bearable. We are a place with a sense of purpose for today and hope for tomorrow.
We serve people of all races, ethnicity, creeds, gender and orientation regardless of their status.
